Rail Repairs
DWG Infraco has been involved in both light and heavy rail maintenance solutions for 30 years, more recently in life extension solutions for both heavy and light rail.
Our rail solutions include Spikefast and Fastpatch polyurethane life extension materials for the use of timber and concrete, respectively.
Rail Infrastructure Stabilisation
Our ground stabilisation options offer several solutions for track bed and rail infrastructure stabilisation. A non-intrusive system means work can be carried out in a regular possession without service disruption.
We also offer diamond drilling to remove broken screws or replace damaged or broken rail clip housings. This is a single shift option using our Fastpatch LV material, which means all clips can be replaced before the end of the possession.
Light Rail
For light rail, we have extensive experience undertaking street running repairs on many UK tram systems. The critical area for failure is the interface between the rail and surrounding materials. Many of the current designs do not have longevity and cause issues early in the system’s life.
Our Fastpatch HPRE is a composite polyurethane rail encapsulation system with a patent-pending integrated aggregate. HPRE is designed explicitly for embedded rail applications and provides excellent electrical isolation, resilience, vibration and sound damping.
The added benefit is that it adheres to all materials it comes into contact with, so it eliminates the repeat delamination issue that all systems seem to suffer.
Fastpatch HPRE is a fast-setting material and allows service to resume after one hour; that can be supplied in either bucket for contractor kits or high-volume meter applications.
